I work primarily with raw and processed wool, which I carefully source from local farms and abroad, focusing on heritage breed sheep. Through a series of traditional washing and felting techniques, I transform this natural material into soft sculptures and wall hangings that echo the forms, textures, and rhythms of the natural world.
My practice begins with process — washing and wet felting the wool to create a base, then building up sculptural elements with felting needles.
I draw inspiration from the coastal environment of my childhood on Cape Cod: the motion of waves, the shifting sand, and the subtle topographies of land and sea. These organic patterns find their way into my work as tactile memories made tangible.
Creating with materials from nature to represent nature itself feels both grounding and restorative. It’s a slow, intentional process that connects me to the land, the animals, and the traditions of handwork. Though I am now based in Providence, Rhode Island, the Cape remains a central influence — a place I return to in every piece I make.
